PERSONAL COMPUTERS ON-CAMPUS DURING THE CONFERENCE
Each computer on campus has its own ‘network address', which is based on a unique number registered to every computer that is called a MAC address or Physical address. This number needs to be registered with the Acadia User Support Center before your personal computer can gain access to the network on campus.
Bring the number (address) when you come to the conference registration desk and fill out the basic information form. Your address will then be activated for the conference week (only a designate from Acadia can add these addresses).
Windows XP (Windows 2000)
This MAC address can be viewed while within Windows by clicking on the start menu and choosing ‘run'. Then enter into the run window ‘cmd' to access the DOS prompt. Once in the black screen, type ‘ipconfig /all' including the forward-slash. After pressing enter, look for the long alphanumeric number listed as ‘physical address' and copy this number down.
** Please Note: Some computers may also have a wireless card installed, which will be listed. Be sure to write down the address for your "...Local Area Connection"
