Activities
SAMPAA has been a catalyst both
domestically and internationally in the development of conferences on
science and the management of protected areas.
We organise a major international
conference every three years. We have worked with other organisations,
such as the George Wright Society in the U.S., in contributing to the
publishing of a guideline for the World Conservation Union on
"Co-ordinating Research and Management in Protected Areas", and in
co-sponsoring workshops and training courses on a national scale.
The organisation promotes the
dissemination of information from the conferences and has a tradition of
publishing refereed proceedings.
