Journal of Science and Management of Protected Areas
SAMPAA’s mission is to promote a culture of conservation to a diverse range of professionals, Protected Areas Managers, students and community members by raising awareness through developing a knowledge base, educating our constituencies, and influencing policy change.
The Journal of Science and Management of Protected Areas publishes primary scientific investigations, synthesis of existing knowledge, or philosophical treatments of policy, for protected areas.
SAMPAA invites original manuscripts (i.e. not published elsewhere) on primary research or synopses of issues which are science based and deals with protected areas or greater ecosystems that will enhance the understanding required for the development of management or policy as it relates to protected areas. Manuscripts may deal with but are not limited to natural history of species, rare and endangered species, invasive species, community dynamics, human wildlife interactions, human use and impact, community and ecosystem processes, boundary issues, landscape approach, ecosystem based management, climate change, and more.
