Alistair Bath
Dr. Alistair Bath is a Professor of Geography at Memorial University. His research focuses on the human dimensions in natural resource management issues, including wildlife-human interactions within, and surrounding, protected areas in Canada, the USA, and various European countries. Alistair's research has been applied to resolving conflicts and working with various interest groups through human dimension facilitated workshops toward consensus on national large carnivore management plans (e.g. for the Croatian wolf and Bulgarian brown bear), transboundary peace parks (e.g. between Armenia, Georgia and Turkey), creation of the PANparks initiative (i.e. European protected areas system), and addressing large carnivore-people interactions in various parts of Europe. Alistair has also done a variety of research on NL resident attitudes towards Newfoundland marten, moose and forestry issues.
